I went to Petco yesterday and found multiple bags of corncob litter but it all was big stuff. It was about the size of 1/2 of a pea to a full pea. Isnt this stuff to large for tumbling? Its jagged and i would think it would beat the bird up even worse that my tumbler does now

jerry, id use the grit from Van Dykes taxidermy supply. also if your tumbler is beating the bird up use 1 baffle. it should only turn at 12 rpms. i usually tumble for 10 minutes max on a duck, then use the blower from a shop vac with a hair dryer on the suction end of the shop vac to finish drying the bird. the grit from Van Dykes is about 9 bucks for 10 lbs.
the stuff from the part store made by Sun Seed Company.

Google Grit-o-cob to find a supplier near you; use the fine grit, which is like sand.
