anyone know where to see some good reference pics of a lady amherst Pheasant? any thing to look for when mounting these birds?

You should be able to find some good reference on the internet. One really important thing to look at is leg placement. This goes for Goldens also. The knee joint sets below the body. This means you either need to keep the femer (thigh) bone or you need a wire that goes to the thigh bone anchor point. This makes these birds look very leggy, but they are very leggy. If I didn't explain this well, give me a call. This occurs in more kinds of birds than you think.
When you don't get it correct you know it doesnt look right, but you might not know why. Look for the knee joint when you find reference.

Tony, I like my ladies "leggy"as well! There is a very good book with photos of most exotic pheasants including the amherst. Check out Pheasants of the World by Keith Howman, the cover photo should get you drooling.It is published by Hancock House. It might be at a library-I ordered mine from Barnes and Noble, it took maybe 10 days to come in. Also one of the best aviary references available.
