The best bet is to measure the bird after you have skinned it. some forms ask for circumfrences while others ask for length and girth. You may find after measuring you need an all together different species than the one you're actually taxi-ing. These forms are only recommendations by the manufacturer. I personally would never order a form based solely on what species it was. Even so you may still have to make some modifications on your form either by shaving the form here and there or by adding cotton to some areas like the neck/breast juncture. Hope this helps!
What kind of teal is the form for? Is the woody a drake or a hen? Is the woody big or small? Face it ducks are no difference then us humans when it comes to size difference between specimens. Skin the woody and see if it will work. If not just put the skin in the freezer and order a different form.
Measure your body...It doesn't matter if you use a Gadwell body for a Widgeon! You have to measure your body first then order your body!
If you can, have a teal and wood duck already stored in your shop, maybe several from different suppliers and 2-3 common species in your birds size range. Then you can continue the mounting process with no down time. I alter the size of my bird form and build its neck while the skin tumbles dry. Eventually you will use up all those forms stashed away, its a disease and you are infected, there is no escape you are now becoming a bird taxidermist...
I ordered 8 BWT teal bodies for Woodducks a week ago. Woodduck forms are to big. My wooduck carcases average 8-8.5 by 14-14.5 witch is a teal body in the catolog. Try it but measure first if possible.
