I was wondering if I could get some feedback... good and bad from some of you professionals out there. These are my first three ducks and was wondering what areas are good and which ones I need to work on. I put them on an online photo album so any comments would be great.... thanks!

I'm just a beginner myself but I really like the hen mount. The habitat looks good too. Is that one of a dead duck? Can't really tell from the picture but it looks like a downed bird.
Your flying male Mallard looks like the wings are too strait. It could be just the angle of the picture. The female looks much better. I would say the best thing you could do is join your local taxidermy association and start to compete. You will learn a treasure trove of information from those guys. Keep up the good work. Also preening the birds a little more would help to give then a more appealing look. In the future take real close-up pics. of the birds eyes, feet, wings etc. It is hard to see how you did with a picture that does not show a ton of detail.
Thanks for your comments.... I tried to get closer on the details but I don't have a really good camera and yes that is a dead duck.... One wing was busted and I couldn't get it to do anything right....so instead of throwing it over the fence I came up with the "dead duck" scene.
Thanks for all the tips on how to make some improvements....that's what I'm looking for!

the hen pose. I agree with the wings being a little to straight on the drake. a good reference picture is unbelievably handy. I cant really tell from the pictures, but the feathers dont look like they were really groomed. that will make a good mount great if all the feathers are groomed. Good job...when I look at my first three birds, yours are a LOT better. keep working
check out David Jarvis 's site. there are some really nice pictures of birds landing. I think that posting your birds pics is a great way to get some feedback when you are starting out.
