Could someone please tell me the best way to skin my turkey for a full mount? I am going to do a standing or walking mount. If I cut it from leg to leg do I cut it all the way to the knee? I have already removed the fan. Also if anyone has Callys instructional sheet could they e-mail it to me, and if anyone has any pics of walking or standing birds they have done could you e-mail me some pics of your mounts I would really like to see them. I just shot a Rio that has a 10 3/16 beard and 1 1/2 spurs and weighs 26lbs 10 oz. and is my best bow bird and I really want to mount him myself. I have done deer and things just not birds.
Thanks for any and all help you may give.

Do yourself a huge favor. Cut knee to knee across the vent like Cally, but then carefully cut AROUND THE KNEE JOINT and remove the legs completely. If you're doing a strutter or a stander, this is the very best way to work big wires without tearing your skin. Remove the legs, clean them, wire them and then install them in the mannikin that has an artificial neck already installed. Pose it like you want and let it dry. Paint the legs.
Now take your skin and slip it over the mannikin. Fix your wings (either wired or unwired) and then work the skin down the legs. Superglue the "skirt" around the knee joints and sew it up. Install the tail. It's faster and easier than it was to type.
