On Wednesday I killed a 27lb triple bearded turkey in Illinois. This is the largest and most unique turkey I have ever killed. I would like to get a full body mount done on the turkey. What would be the best position to get it mounted in to show off the triple beards the best? I was planning on getting it mounted in the full strut position. Would this be a good choice? Also how often does a triple beard occur? One was 10.5 inches one was 7 and one was 3. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I'm still trying to get my first turkey of the season but a full strut mount would be awesome. Anything else wouldn't really do the bird justice in my opinion.
If I had a bird that size and wanted to see the beards. I would definately mount it standing relaxed so the feathers won't hide those beards. Just my two cents. Jack
go with a gobbling mount then with the neck streched out. i mounted my double beard in a semi strut with head low and neck out gobbling and mounted it on an elk antler. it really shows off the beards nice. i can send you a picture if you want to see what the mount looks like.
Especially with that short third beard. A strutter fluffed up will almost cover that one.
As far as multiple beards, it's not that unusual. I've had them with 4 and 5 beards. The beard is actually a modified feather and the extra beards just seem to form out of the same follicle. I had a call yesterday from a guy wanting his bird mounted to show its beard. This one was a bearded hen, however and we seem to have a lot of them around here. The state has asked hunters to pass bearded hens, but there's always ONE who just has to have that "unique" trophy.
Paul,
I would definitely like to see the picture of your mount. Please send it. Thanks, a lot.
Like suggested already, neck streched out. You could do a gobbling on the roost mount. They take up less space and take up zero floor space. You don't have to mount them fully strutted. One other thing, I've seen these so called double and triple bearded birds, and quite often it happens to be a large beard that has been split one or more times, and if this the case, I think they look better with a single "paint-brush" of a beard than a few thin ones. I'm not saying that yours is the case, because I've seen actual multiple beards as well. Congratulations!
