Has anyone ever painted wattles on a white headed pheasant?
I usually paint pheasant wattles red then brush the paint
off the feathers, but on this one all the little hair like feathers in the wattle are white, will the paint brush off of those or will it turn them pink? Thanks for any help.

it's not easy. I've done it with a fine brush and thinned paint, and worked around the white feather spots. The other way is to airbrush the waddle red and then go back and clean off the white feathers with a solvent like acetone, using a small pointed brush. Both are a little time consuming. I don't think I've ever had them turn pink since the paint isn't allowed to stay on them very long.
I never did one so I probable should keep my mouth shut but anyway....I would use water based paint and then tine brush with acetone etc. Water based paint comes off of feathers with a lot less work than with Acrylics. Just a thought.
