Does the Bobcat have wings? This is the "Bird" Category. Your post should have been on the Mammal category. Just a thought.

YES but....

Once the cat is legally acquired and has the proper paperwork confirming that, your "friend" can do whatever he wants with the cat provided, of course, he is a legally permitted taxidermist in the first place.

he is not a taxidermist

Check your state laws

Every state is different on these laws, and a bobcat is not regulated by any federal laws. In most states a bobcat is considered a fur bearer and is legally trapped and sold on the fur market. I would imagine that in some states a bobcat is completely protected and not even legal to posess. Its all up to the state.

Let's Look At This With A Little Logic

If this animal were not legal to own or sell in the state(PA) it would not or should not have been sold in the first place. Logically then, neither one of those things is true. Now there may be some regulation restricting the sale by a taxidermist, that wouldn't be out of the relm of possibility, knowing how government works. If a taxidermist can legally sell it, a private individual can certainly sell it. The only exception to that, logically speaking, would be if he were to make a practice of selling this sort of thing. Then he might have to be licensed as a taxidermist. I'd say YES, he can sell or lease it!

Just keep in mind two things. I don't live in PA so I have no idea what the laws are there. AND, most important, we are speaking of logic here so none of the above may apply, because we are dealing with GOVERNMENT! LOGIC and GOVERNMENT are NOT the same thing.
