Hello, when I skin, degrease and clean a duck skin, the flesh and bones remain a pink color. I have seen other peoples skin and bones ( wings ) look white, as if bleached.
these are white ducks. what is making the inside difference? the white inside seems to smell less and be cleaner.
and how long before the dead smell leaves the drying piece usually.

Lisa, if you remove all the meat and fat than was the skin there shouldn't be any dead smell. I sugest you cheak to see if your getting the skin good and clean.
