I have a turkey that I am planning to skin and flesh tomorrow (wed.). It has been thawing and should be ready. This will be my first one, and I have been using Cally Morris' procedures from the Breakthrough article (66?). He says, after fleshing, immediately wash. After I flesh, before I wash, can I freeze it and wash later? I dont have any tumbling materials yet and I dont want to wash it until I have all I need. I have 2 more turkeys to do also (for myself), and I would prefer to wash all 3 once I finish fleshing. Would there be a problem with freezing at this point? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You can do either, I'd skin/flesh and get ready to wash and just freeze it with some wet paper towels in the cavity (if it's going to be in the freezer any length of time). Or you can wash it and freeze it.. good luck..
I have done this several times. But one thing I have found is that the thin skin on the legs and back and freeze dry quickly. So be sure to tuck these up in the middle.
I have taken wet towles and put in the chest cavity to re-freeze. this seems to help too.
I appreciate the help.
