Preserving dead birds

How do you preserve to display small dead birds. We have had many beautiful small birds collide with our windows. It seems such a waste to just dispose of them. Is there a way to preserve and display them?

Here is just one of the many links stating that. http://www.ttai.org/tp&w_regulatios.htm PLEASE see Section 64.002. Protection of Non-game Birds. "(1) catch, kill, injure, pursue, or possess, dead or alive, or purchase, sell, expose for sale, transport, ship, or receive or deliver for transportation, a bird that is not a game animal." I hope this helps! Joe

...but the laws are there for the protection of them. You don't want to get caught touching any of them.
