turkey panel mounting

I would like to hand make a dia 5" panel to mount my turkey fan, but I worry that the fan is top heavy for the panel and spin and fall of the wall. I see similar ideas on the net, but none show the back. Rather than purchasing a panel I would like to make it myself. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks Pete

Pete, they're feathers

If your wall hanger is at the top of the panel, the weight of the panel is greater than the weight of the feathers.

What weights more a pound of feathers or a pound of wood?

Read Field and Stream, March 2005 issue, page 45. Shows exactly what to do.
