I have some Red Head reference pictures, but I beleive some of these pictures are not live reference. They have some close ups of the head, but the eye ring is not shown. What color is the eye ring on a Red Head Drake?

It's real easy to over do it. Redheads eyerings are very small. Anything bigger than a fine cotton thread will be too much. If you get the eyes set right and the eye rings setting correct you can thicken them just a little with Mod Podge, A surgical precission thing or it's too much.
