Broken Necks

Just wanted to get a few opinions.I have 3 redhead drakes and 1 woody drake that have broken necks. They were moved around in the freezer to much and their necks broke in half.Would it look right if I were to skin them out and sew the necks back on.I am worried about the feathers not laying right.I am a fairly good at sewing.I just wanted to see if I should even mess with it or not. Thanks for the help.

go for it! I have found it best to use glue (Zap A Gap) My first bird was a headless pigeon that I sewed and the feathers layed good. Joe

Before skinning, seperate the skin from the neck at the break.. Try and sew it up on the bird before you skin it completely. OR after skinning, take a piece of necking material or a round dowel of appropriate size and sew the skin together with the material in the neck.. makes things much easier and helps to align feather patterns better.
