I am going to to be mounting a hen in the nesting pose. What are their nests made out of? Straw, Grass, etc. Does anyone have a photo of a nest. And also do some of their eggs normally stick out when the hen is on the nest like she cant cover them all. What would be the best way to mold fake eggs. Where could i get an egg big enough to make a mold of? Thanks

The hen will take materials from her nest surroundings, if she's in the woods it's usually nothing more than leaves/twigs, in the fields it can be just matted down grass etc. I've seen both of them. Look at this picture of a hen even though she's not on the eggs, they are usually covered up:

A Hen turkey does not build a nest like you think a normal bird does. She just wallows out a place out on the ground. I guess she does this to keep the eggs from rolling out. I don't know why. But its just a little indention on the ground or grass.
