Was watching the local news last night and found out exactly where they found the ivory billed woodpecker. It is in a little town called Cotton Plant, Arkansas ......which is about 2 hours from me. This little town is all but dead.....basically no economy, what little is there comes from farming. The local news showed where Cotton Plant residents are taking advantage of the situation with ivory billed plywood cutouts to put on your light poles, the ivory billed plate lunch at the local diner and yes the ivory billed striped and dyed hair cut! LOL TV reported that this bird could bring as much as $40 billion dollars of revenue to the area from bird watchers and tourists. Now that is amazing! Just thought i would share some info with yall.

I was so happy to hear that the Ivory Billed Woodpecker was sighted. I love the Pileated Woodpecker, and it was great to hear that the Ivory Billed is not extinct. I am worried though....the Ivory Bill seems to really like privacy, and all of the bird watchers and tourists might scare them away. If they are bothered too much, they might Really become extinct:o(
