Hello all, this spring I shot a nice mature tom turkey, I am going to do the breast mount with the tail behind it, it will be my first bird experience. I am using an artificial head and i have the breast form from McKenzie taxidermy. What I wanted to know is what I could use for a neck, as I did not purchase one. I was thinking of using the foam pipe insulation, and cutting it to shape. Its more or less a strutting position, so the neck wont be overly large, if anyone has some suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Branden O.

You may not even need it. I think some of the breast forms have enough neck to make it work. I personally I have not done a breast/sholder mount yet. But I know on a strutting turkey, I use very little material. I know the only difference from the the neck material I buy and the pipe insullation is that the neck material is solid.
Before you do this, Breakthrough had an artical a couple of years ago on doing a breast mount. The issue numbner is 68. I would read this one before continuing. They allow you to buy old issues.
The size I meant was 1 and 1/4
