Hi,
I was wondering if someone could tell me if most turkeys and pheasants are mounted with a fake head?

These seem to be the preference of those Taxidermists who mount turkeys in Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas. I took a phone poll asking the taxidermists their preferences in the Summer of 2004.
I give pros and cons for each, and allow customers to make the choice. Probably 90 percent of my turkeys are mounted with freeze dried heads. I'm in Alabama so Pheasants aren't a staple for us here. But when I do mount them, they're usually with artificial heads.
