The drying box is used for fish but would it work for larger items, for instance, turkeys if you made it bigger.

My Opinion

You can build a bigger box for drying bigger items. I think the problem would be the fact that you don't want things to dry fast. You want the drying process to be as slow as possible to help reduce the amount of shrinkage. Now, on a skin mounted cold-water fish, you are going to use a cast head and cast fins and you will have to rebuild any other shrinkage, so controlling shrinkage is not as important as if you were drying a turkey or deer head. Just my opinion.

I made the box

and it would work for just about anything you want to dry quicker than nature allows without help. If you want to use it for turkeys,,,why not? Freezedried head, pumped up feet and legs, bone ligaments, skin, etc.. So what shrinkage are you worrying about? You can slow dry your project by using the lowest setting on the processor's control.Pin everything where you want it to stay, glue everything down and go for it. No-one says you can't keep a close watch on the mount by opening the box. Try one, you might like it.
Good luck, JL
