I have a question about a non-licenced taxidermist in Pa. Is it legal for him to do taxi work for himself and get FAWNS, OTTERS, minks, BOBCAT and weasals from the game commision to mount? I don't know how he would get the permits to do such. This guy also claims he can do mounts for people as long as he doesn't charge. Which I know that's bull s@#$. He say it's allright. The way I understand the Pa. laws is that if your not licensed you can't even mount for a relative, or spouse. (Legally)

Call your local game warren turn his ass in ,you can mount things for yourself ,but you cant mount for anybody even if you don't charge them, as for the fawns, bobcats ,otters as long as he got the paper work , he must know somebody to get these things it took me 5 years for them to get me a road kill black bear.

mind your own. the pa license is bullcrap anyhow and in time pa is going to do away with it anyhow. why should you have a licence to mount your friends animals anyhow. Its just more Gov. control over something they should stay out of.

There is NO LICENSE in PA

Pa taxidermists are not licensed at all! We're permited to do this typw of work. Why folks say we're licensed I'll never know, just look at the paper your sent. It stated a permit not licensed.
As far as the question goes it's been answered many times. You can't do work for others with out a permit weather you charge or not...
So whatever this joker is telling you is a lie. Ne may just want to see you get into trouble and if he's doing it, yes turn them in. Your working the right way to get a permit.
Now can you get animals from Game Commision? Yes. I have many clients buy animals from them and then they come to me with the paper work and I mount them up. There is nothing on the paper that says this person is having the work done by such and such person.

I applaud all the things you guys in PA are working toward and have endured over the years, but from a LITERAL viewpoint, political correctness doesn't change linguistics.

A "permit" is certainly a "license" no matter how you try to bend the facts. A license by definition is a written official or legal permission to do or own a specified thing. "Permission" is the operative word there you notice. When you define permits you see that it is "permission to own or do a thing, and in written form, a license or warrant". A rose by any other name would smell the same.

George we aren't as far apart as I thought--LOL

License or permit ---it still means the same too me. It is just a play on words.
