Just a quick question...I had a skin drying in borax. I got delayed getting back to it and it dried out too much...it is very stiff and rigid. Is there any way to rehydrate the skin (put it in water perhaps) to make it workable again?

If you use a water mist bottle, you can probably get it plyable again. It depends on how thin the skin is and how lond it sat in the borax. If it's really dried out, you could wet a towel or t-shirt (depending on the size of the bird), wring most of the water out and insert it in the skin. 15 to 30 minutes should have it rehydrated.
