We saw a hawk hit and picked it up off the road. We took it to the vet, but it had died. It is beautiful and we are interested in keeping it on display. What is the process to do this? Could anyone help? We are a homeschooling family of 10. Thank you so much for your help.

"Home schooling" tends to be an Americanized term and if you are, it's flatly, solidly, illegal for you to own. Sorry.
The CFR regulations spell out exactly who or what can have the hawks and though you are "home schooled", your home is a domicile and not an educational institution. I'd suggest that you contact your local game warden. Since you had it cared for by a veterinarian, you have proof that the bird died of consequences not in your control so that should not be an issue. The bird will be confiscated and either sent to a repository or it will be mounted for a governmental agency or educational institution.
See everyone ............................George can play nice if he wants to ! LOL
Have I ever been anything but nice to you?
I said everyone............ not just me. No, you have always been a true gentleman to me even when I pointed out where you were wrong!
Now go ahead and tell everyone who reads this: The only time I was ever wrong was the one time I took your word for something being right. LMAO
Maybe you should have researched bitrh controll! I hear that if you pop out 5 more, then you dont have to pay taxes, is that right?
I too come from a small tribe of 9...Its been almost a week since my last smoke, sorry.
