Has anyone ever used liquid nails to glue a duck's skin to an artificial head? I ran out of super glue, and thought I'd give the liquid nails a try (if it works, of course!) Thank you,
Becky

I have never tried that, it could work. You could maybe try a little bit on the skin somewhere first to see if it adheres to the skin, but I would be careful.
I would be more concerned about what color it is when it's dry, and applying it without making a mess and possible getting some on the feathers.(BAD)
I would just make a trip and get some super glue.
.....With the expression, "Do the job RIGHT or don't do it at all!"
Who's to say that using Liquid Nails wouldn't be RIGHT? Maybe it is better than super glue, but nobody has tried it yet. Liquid nails dries slower than super glue, which I find to be very positive. I hate how quickly super glue dries. I know Liquid Nails can bond leather and bone together, so why not try it on my next duck? Of course, I will be careful, just as careful as I am with that darn super glue. I will let you all know what happens!
THEY HAVE CLEAR THAT I USE TO ADHEAR TOUNGUES IN HOG MOUNTS I DONT SEE WHY IT WOULDNT WORK ON A DUCK BUT I WOULD USE IT SPARINGLY.VERY LITTLE WILL GO A LONG WAYS.
Cool! I will keep an eye out for the clear, because I also use Liquid nails on my habitats. Thanks:o)
I use apoxie sculpt. Roll out a small bead and lay in the channel you routered out. Watch the area for a couple of days to make adjustments.
Let us know your results and Good Luck.
I used the Liquid Nails the other day, and it worked alright. I had more time to adjust the skin, and could move it around if I wanted to. The only problem was that as soon as the stuff comes out of the tube, it forms a thin "skin" on top, and is not as sticky. I don't know if I like it better than super glue, but at least it worked. I also put a few ento pins along the beak, to help hold the skin in place while it dried. Verdict: satisfactory!
