I just got Frank Newmyers strut turkey tape and he makes it look so easy. He doesnt skin a bird in it but talks about it. It is a pretty good tape.
Guys, I know he is a champion, but the tape isn't that good. there are some things to take a way from it, but he cuts the wings off, then reassembles them. Plus he uses ballons for the breast, and most of the forms now don't need them. Also there is a lot of attitude which I guess if you are a world champion you have the right to have. But it annoys me personally. One thing I did learn is a few times he says don't ask a poor man how to get rich. Which does have alot of meaning in its self. Here is what I think you should do. ( So I guess I am one of those poor men, so take it for what it's worth)
Pete Gierkie (Spelling of last name) from Van Dykes had a good video on mounting a strutting bird. He goes through the skinning procedure really well. I would use this skinning. The rest I haven't tired, but If he does make a good looking bird in the end.
Then I would get the series Breakthrough did on mounting a turkey. For about 5 issues. They go through skinning, to mounting a standing bird and two strutting birds.

thanks to all who replied
three different videos, and picked up on techniques from each of them. One is the strutting turkey by Peter Gierke, another is the Ferebee strutting turkey, and the third is the Newmeyer video. They each have a little different style of doing things, but all are great for the beginner. Just my opinion.
