Real question this time:
I have a turkey to do with a nasty bow shot wing to repair. The large quills, or primaries are torn off of the bone. The bone is in three pcs. The skinny bone is in two pcs. My plan is to wire and splint the bones. When the wing is place on, is it a good idea to pack the damaged wing area with caulk, then card and set the primary's the best way possible till dry?

Clean the bones inside and out, be sure you remove all the marrow! Degrease the way you feel is best.
Now cut the proper size wire for the inside of the bone, like a Dr. would pin a human femur bone.
You can use Super glue and super glue activator, to instantly set the bone and wire, or a 5 minute epoxy.
Be sure you have all the fat removed and all the little holes sewn up tight.
When you get to the point of caulking, you can set the feathers and card them, tend them daily until the caulk sets up.
Do not over fill the wing, remember you are just replacing the fleshy material you removed.
Well then I guess I was right on my plan all along. Sarah, who told you this?
It works with ducks and geese. if the bone is shattered he taught me to use a small wood dowel.
Thats what I will do. Thanks Sarah
