This week I mounted a breast mount on a Turkey. After 3 days of letting it dry, I noticed a smell coming from the bird. I fleshed, washed, and mounted the bird and did the tail and wings separate. Artifical head was used. After thinking about it for a while, I don't remember using any borax on the breast skin. I did use it on the wings and tail feathers. Any help on how to eliminate the smell on this huge mess-up would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Turkeys have a lot of fat in their breast, sounds like you didn't get it all out.
If the skin is too dry to remove the stitching which it probably is you may as well just let it dry and hope for the best. If you got all the fat out the smell will go away, but if not you will have continuous problems shuch as leakage.
Even though you boraxed the wings, there are a couple of places most people overlook. I might be wrong, but I'll bet if you stick your nose close the metacarpals (equivalent of our wrist) you'll find where the odor is coming from. The feet are another area that can really get rough. One thing's for sure; rotting meat smells much worse than any fat you may have missed. Only you would know if you left any fat on the breast, but if the odor is really offensive you're probably going to find some muscle tissue.
You can take one of those "stick ups" (air freshener)you can buy at the grocery. Take apart the plastic holder and pin the disc somewhere that it won't be seen....also the supply houses sell a product called "just one drop" ..it is really good.
