Hummingbird taxidermy

I have a hummingbird in almost pristine condition that i would either like to mount or, failing that, at least clean and preserve the skull. Does anyone have any advice on this? I realize with something so small it's probably going to be quite an undertaking.

Andrew, in the US all songbirds (with the exception of the redwing blackbird, english sparrow and starling)are federally protected. This means you can't own/posess any part of the bird (including the skull or even the feathers)or the mounted bird. Better to get rid of it now before you get in trouble. You will not find a taxidermist who will mount it for you. The penalties are quite stiff for the possession of a songbird (unless you have proper paperwork which involves a lot of red tape and is usually issued only for educational institutions and museums, but not for individuals).

I'm fairly certain the Redwing Blackbird is also covered!
Grackles are often killed but they too are covered...better stick to Starlings and House Sparrows.
