I just did some that had been in the freezer 2 years and had not been well wraped. The feet were dry but if you will inject some water into them, they should be fine.
I did a Canvas Back that was in a Wal-Mart bag for 5 yr. It's head was in the worst shape but I soaked it in warm water about 5 hrs.
It was a drake Hooded Merganser. The head was dry and eyelids were dryed to its skull. Bird turned out nice though. 2 yrs should be no problem.
I just mounted a Mallard drake that was in a safeway bag for 4yrs.Feet were a little dry but a little water and cotton and a rubber band did the trick.Mount turned out awesome.
I know someone who mounted a turky vulture that had been frozen for over 40 years! That bird died before he was even born.
I have mounted several birds that were frozen for over a decade, I don't even worry about it any more.
I took in a turkey last week that had been frozen for 7 years. I started thawing it as soon as the guy brought it in. As it thawed, I injected Stop Rot under the skin in all areas but especially those that looked like they might be freezer burned. It skinned as good as any I get in that are fresh frozen.
