flying turkey

Getting ready to mount a flying turkey on Cally Morris TK41. Question i have is I skined the bird out from leg to leg. The TK41 has no pre formed drum sticks , so i drilled out for the leg wire/bone.So know i will have to set them with bondo our something. Then that brings me to this question? If legs our already set into form it makes sewing a real job with the legs tucked up under the bird. Was thinking of glueing skin onto leg then sew up the drum stick area before I set it into the form. Then put some liquid nail in drilled hole & then finish the sewing. If anyone has a better ideal like to hear it.
Thanks Ed.

Turn the skin in-side out and sew it up, then split'em up the breast and sew'em the old fashioned way.

Nothing wrong with the tube cut

Works for me and I never see that seam. I can't see resplitting that skin to sew up a ventral cut for any reason.

Use a filler other than bondo

Ed, if the bird is flying, the legs will most likely not be used to support the bird. If thats the case, you can use a smaller guage wire (not necessary but easier to work with), and build the muscle back with tow, cotton, etc. Just wire the legs like you do the wings. After it's all sewed up and posed, you can come back with a little caulk to fine tune the muscle tissue the way it should be.
