Hi.
Will be mounting my own a/pheasant soon and i have tons of refrence pics. I rally like them when they have thier neck feathers really 'puffed up'/ displaying/ whatever.
I dont do alot of birds so disregard my ignorance with the terms used.
How is this puffed look achieved? Is it kind of the same principle as raising the neck hairs on boars? (ie pulling the skin towards the head a little)
Also, which of the breakthru manuals, (or others?), cover phesants in detail?
thanks.

If you flesh the head and neck skin well on the wheel and put some latex caulk under the skin you can place those feathers how you want them. They fold neatly behind the head and shingle forward when aroused. So, you can pull them forward and the caulk will hold them in place. You will need to re-groom for a few days. Not too difficult
Thanks.
