Its slow around here.
We had a real poor hatch in Minnesota.

Its too early to be taking in this year's ducks. Most all of the birds are still full of pin feathers.
I usually have some nice wood ducks by this time. I understand what your saying, but I usually have to turn birds away for pins and that hasn't even happened yet. Because of the bad hatch we dont have near as many hunters this year either.
.......So far. If the weather holds we might see a change, but so far the birds I've seen have been unmountable. Usually, by now, there should be some fairly decent woodies. I haven't had the usul number of calls on waterfowl either, so I know that the hunting is down around here(north central Minn.)
Shot a limit of teal on opening day! Five greenwings/two blue wings.
You did better then most. I am an avid duck hunter and a taxidermist and I havent shot a mallard yet. I have only shot one bluewing and my major bag has been diver ducks. I have shot a few redheads, and ringbills but thats about it. Most people I have talked to have done worse them I have. I do know that is sone areas in norther MN they are saying it was the best openner for years. It seems to be patchy and the reports are to the extremes. The fact that I havent gotten near as many calls for doing ducks as previous bad years I tend to say that for the most part in most areas its pretty bad.
