Hooded Merganser

I have just finished mounting a hooded merganser and the crest on top of his head is standing fine but the last 1/4" of the feathers on the end have gotten a mind of their own and are Kinda fuzzed out. I have tryed carding,rewetting the tips but no luck. Any Ideas?

Try masking tape.

It is on it's second day, I'll give the tape a try thanks.
