waterfowl bodies

If I was to buy a foam bird body, how important is it to have the correct species? Is there really any difference between a puddler and a diver? Say for instance, I'm looking for a eider body and they either don't have that species or the one they have doesn't have the measurements I need. Would it work to just find a body that has the correct dimensions whether it's a puddler or diver or sea duck?

Thanks for your help.

I really doesnt matter. I have used larger mallard bodies for Ross geese, teal bodies for hen buffle heads, ect ect... Just make sure you use the carcass as a guide for leg and wing placement. In some cases you will need to do some minor modifications.

Ditto to Bill.
The fingers are a little stiff from picking up decoys.
