I have a question for all you taxidermists. I recently shot a tundra swan and have brought it to a taxidermist. I have not told him how i want it mounted yet though. I want an original mount though, not just a regular wall flying mount(partially because its too big
' of a wingspan). Any ideas of how it should be done? If any of you have websites with poses or pictures of mounted swans, please give me the email address. Thank you for yor ideas. Jeff

But I would hope that you have some understanding of just how big this bird is going to be regardless of the pose you select. They are so overpowering, that even a stander, or a resting bird is going to become a piece of furniture. I've had customers request that they actually be mounted flying suspended from the ceiling to save space.
This is a bit off topic, but I just skinned my first swan today! It was a Mute Swan, and it was large indeed! I agree with George--go to Google, Images, and type in Tundra Swan. You'll see tons of great pictures. You can even just type in "swan".
Also, I recently mounted a Canada Goose, and the customer wanted him to be standing, with his wings slightly opened, like he was about to open them and flap. I mounted him on a dirt mound, but for your swan, you should ask for a snow/ice mound. Just an idea:o)

They are VERY big birds
hope your taxti knows what he's getting into
most of mine have been suspended flighing mounts just to save space
but either way, when done properly they are beautful trophies
I would recommend a nice pedestal mount. maybe octagonal. some habitat. standing. should look nice
