Need he;p fast!

I just got done mounting a turkey and the feathers under the head in front are all split about 6 inches down the body. I tried putting them together but with no luck. Is there anything that I can put on them to get them back together? It looks really bad.

Thanks Scott

Not enough information Scott

Or you didn't explain it sufficiently enough to visualize what you're talking about. "Feathers under the head" "split down 6 inches". Are the feathers split or is the skin that's split. I've never seen split feathers to that degree.

More information

They are the little feathers under the head that go down all the way to the beard. Basicly the front 4 inches across down to the bear are all split really bad. I think I might have tumbled too long

Thanks Scott

And wet each one individually. Then blow dry while pulling them together.

Dirty?

Scott feel the feathers. If they are soft do as George said---or try steaming them. However, if they feel crusty or hard they are dirty-- most likely with blood but it could also be your wash residue. At this stage of the process there isn't much you can do for them. Getting birds properly washed and RINSED thoroughly is one of the single biggest problems people have with birds.
Good luck!
