Hello All
I recently recieved three birds from a customer who had them in his freezer for about 15 years. I have not thawed them out. I told him they may or may not be mountable. Does anybody have any tips on the potential problems I may encounter.I am sure they will quite freezer burt.

I mounted a duck that had been frozen for 17 years. I thawed it Kemal-4 and after skinning and fleshing I soaked it again in Kemal-4 and it relaxed up enough to mount it. Good luck!
would anyone keep birds in there freezer for that long??
all the time that are far older than I am... (34 years)
I have yet to come across a bird that couldn't be salvaged with a hypodermic need and a little water. Granted it may not be a walk in the park skinning the bird, but take your time, if you come to a dry spot, inject it with water... give it a minute and proceed. Once the skin is off the bird, it will rehydrate fine during the washing process.
I recently mounted a Crowned Crane that had been frozen for 46 years. It took me almost a full day to skin the thing, going an inch at an hour but I finally won...

Thank You!
that thing must have been like a big hockey puck. It makes you wonder how many freezers its been in and how much stuff has been sitting on top of it.
I have some i've needed to mount for myself, just to busy to get them done. Now it,s been years. Thank you all. Billy
