Water Based Paints

Submitted by Jim on 11/14/05 at 4:32 PM. ( jerogers@insightbb.com )

I just started doing duck bills and feet with water based Hydro Mist and Polytranspar paints. I was painting a woodduck artificial head and the paint really seemed to diluted. It would hit and spatter. I was using aPaasche #1. I shook the paint real well and didn't thin it down. Every color did the same thing. Then it started clogging the brush. Confused. Any help would be appreicated.

After posting this email I found a few things to try in the archives. Lower pressure t0 18psi, try #3 Paasche, also thin paints, try pro flow, thin paints with windex. An other suggestion to try?

Try a little retarder in the mix and a lower air preasure will do it......
