I just found a dead baby owl and want to preserve the wing feathers. How do I cure them? Do I need to cover them with salt? What will keep them in a fan?

I think you better put that owl back exactly where you found it unless you are 100% sure it is legal to posess. Let me tell you now, they're not legal to have.

Oh NOooooo

You cannot do that. Read the law about having Owls in you're hands. What you wanting to do is a no no. You better put it back where you found it, and let the crows have it.

If.......

.......You just found it, it's not a BABY owl, just a small species.

And YES, you had better get rid of it!

You'll have plenty of time to learn

After you pay $10,000 for illegally possessing a protected species. Throw it away and deny ever having seen it. And you don't "cure" "ded" feathers.

Sorry ... 'can't help myself.

You might be able to cure them if you start treatment when they are sick but still alive. Once they are ded it's too late.
