Has anyone tried removing a duck's tail and fanning it like a turkey tail, and then reattaching it when mounting? I know it probably sounds crazy, but it seems that you could really get a nice even fan every time. Just wondering if anyone has tried it and if it works good.

Not crazy at all.. makes it easy to replace missing or broken feathers.... also allows for getting a good solid attachment and makes a good hole for caulking up the tail area in general...
It isn't any easier, or any more difficult.. just a different way...
