How do most of you inject caulk into your ducks? I have just been using a regular caulk gun, but it is hard to squirt caulk into the duck without getting it on the feathers. I think I once saw someone use a large syringe and a tube attached to the end of it. Does anyone know where I could get a tube attachment for a syringe? Any advice would be appreciated.

I use the monoject curved tip syringes. I cut a little bit of the tip off to allow more caulk to come out. Dixieland supply has them, along with some of the other suppliers.
Matuska Supply also carries them.
talk to your dentist...he should be able to hook you up with all kinds of syringes.
as far as injecting caulk, I often use syringes (for small areas). but generally, I just stick the tip of caulk tube in there (wiped clean first). inject x amt of caulk and then relieve pressure on gun and pull bacck out (if don't relief pressure, will spill out/cause mess)
good luck

I get it at ACE Hardware, stick the tube over the end of the curved syringe until very very tight. Then run a T-pin into it thru the side on thru the syringe and out the otherside.
The T-Pin allows you to change tubing should you messup and have cualk dry in the tube.
Saves the syringe for reuse, even when you get careless.
E....Hi....my local feed store has a bunch of flavors of syringes. Like the 10 cc curved tip(it need's a tip trim, as suggested). You can mix a SMALL amount of water into your standard latex caulk to help it shoot thru the syringe. Take a short piece (4 inches) of insulated electrical wire, like #10 stranded copper and pull the wire, or guts out, leaving only the plastic. Push that up over the syringe tip. Practice before using on a bird.
Any of the less noticeable colors of caulk are nice if you are prone to being messy. Any boo-boos are better left to "skin-up" then lift off in one piece with a needle. A sprinkling of borax will help set it and keep it from smearing.
Be advised caulk will only work its magic underneath a properly fleshed/wheeled skin.
good luck

What is the chaulking method you all are talking about? I have been doing taxidermy full time for 13 years and have only recently seen this method discussed here? I dont do many birds at all, but curious what this is. A brief describtion will do, just curious is all. Always looking for bigger and better ideas for the shop
Thanks in advance
