Question

Hey everyone, I was thinking about purchasing an airbrush for some of my taxidermy work (painting artificial heads, feet, open mouths, ect...) but I dont really know what I will need. Should I get a single, or double action? and what are the differences/benefits? I have the air compressor so thats not a problem, I just need to know what you all think would be best. Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Branden

And I use both. The single action is alot easier, just press the button down, the double action takes some getting used to. The double action is more versitle. If you are new to it, I'd recommend the single action. But with practice they both have their benefits. Hope it helps

the double action is alot more versitle, and not that diffecult to get used to.just go ahead and spend the money for a high quality one.I have a paashe, and a iwata.the iwata is way easier to use.

Single Action

Is what I perfer.I use the Paasche H single action.I use it on everything from bird heads to game head finishing to fish painting with no problems.Thing big thing is practice, practice, practice.A little bit of paint goes a long way with an airbrush.I just perfer these ease of cleaning and the versitility of the single action.I normally use a number 3 needle for everything and just adjust my paint viscosity when needed.

Aztek

I used to own a Paasche Double Action, and ended up getting mad and smashing it on the ground. I have since switched to a double action Aztek Airbrush, with much success! I recommend either a single or double action Aztek, because the tips come off the airbrush for easy cleaning! I used to have to completely dismantle my Paasche to clean it. With Aztek, you simply unscrew the tip, which comes right apart for cleaning. The tips come in different sizes, and are about $10 each. I bought my from a craft store, and used a coupon at that. The single action Aztek was either $10 or $20 there--an inexpensive investment. Geez, I sound like a salesperson, lol! Really though, I just used it today, and I am so happy with how well it works!

Aztek IS the way to go . In my humble opinion. Much easier to clean .
