Can someone explain what this means? just starting out and want to buy some birds to work on and I see this in the description alot

wings clipped

Means that one of the wings have been clipped so they are flightless, its a permanent clip of the wing. Most gamebreeders will do this to the bird,Itis one of the ways they mark the bird for the federal migratory laws. If you mount one of these birds i would recommend you put it in a laying position or standing. Never flying.
me personally would never get such a bird.


pinioning is

removing the last digit of the wing.this digit is where the primary or flight feathers are.it is taken off typically at an early age and if you are familiar with the thumb on the wing,that is where it is severed.it is done on one wing only as this puts the birds off balance.


Very poor for mounting

That's just my opinion, but I would never choose to do a pinioned bird unless a customer brought one in and seriously wanted it mounted. They always look lopsided to me ... with tree (whistling) ducks being the only exception that I can think of.
