wood duck

hey i took a wood duck out of the freezer today for a customer and it was all really....... i dont know, like sticky on the inside and had a really hard time skinning it out. In all it took me 4 hours just to skin it out. was it just freezer burned? Skin was like an orangish color on the inside, i got it skinned out but it took forever

it could of been. but even if ti was dont worry about it just soak it in water,lysol and dawn detergent.befor you even wire weel it. this will help rehidrate it and make it more moist. then it will wire well nice and mount nice as well.


Freezer?

Sounds like it was decomposing already. I'm guessing your customer took his time getting the bird into a freezer, before he got it to you! I know, I have gotten a few birds like that from customers and I later traced it to that. Some people think if they put in the garage, that's as good as a chest freezer. You may have problems with feather slippage...Good luck!
