Moving Soon--Advice Please!

Hi everybody! I am a bird taxidermist in Maryland, and I am planning to move to North Carolina in a few months. I would like to keep my customers from Maryland, and make new customers in North Carolina. I will be travelling between both states regularly, and I would like to have a shop in both states. Is this possible? Will I need a license in both states, since I hope to work in both states? Please help, I need to get all my questions straightened out before calling the DNR! Thank you:o)

Becky, the DNR is not your problem

The revenue offices of both states pose a bigger problem for you and your your accountant. Without knowing if NC actually requires a taxidermy license, you'll certainly have to contact them on that issue. Keep immaculate records for your bookkeeper and if you ARE the bookkeeper, make sure an accountant goes over them.

NC does require a license

Becky, North Carolina does require a license to practice taxidermy. It's an annual license running from Jan 1 thru Dec 31st and cost $10. Hope this helps. The application form is available on the NCWRC website.

Thanks!

Thank you both for the info! I will get started now, so by the time I am ready to move in a few months, everything will be in order (hopefully)!

Welcome to North Carolina. You will need to make sure your Federal license no wait that's a permit for bird taxidermy has the NC information included/added. In NC your records are what the state Wildlife Officers here check on (at least in my area)and the Feds will check you on the birds...very carefully... LOL
