I am expanding my talents away from big game and smaller mammals, to birds. I have never tried a bird before, so my first question is, what is the best way to preserve the skin before mountng. And what is the best thred for sewing? And do i need a fake bill or will the bill that is on the bird work just fine? Lots of question! LOL Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Borax, liqua cure or both, dental floss and the bill is a matter of preference. Waterfowel bills may have some shrinkage, but gamebirds should be okay with some discoloration. Hope that helps.
