I need some help... I'm trying to explain to a customer how I'm going to mount his mallards, so they're dropping, getting ready to hit the water.. I've been looking for a picture to show him.. Have any of you done anything like this ? Know where I could look at a picture and show him ? It's what he wants, he's just not sure how it'll look... Thanks gang.

I would encourage you to develop a library of bird pictures for reference. Over time you can collect a huge variety of positions and attitudes to show potential customers - then there is no question about the position. Numerous magazines and bird books are available. Ducks Unlimited magazine generally has pictures of mallards as do many other outdoor magazines. You can also find them on the net at many different sites. Mallard pictures are very common and readily available.
If a customer is not finding what they want in my reference library I ask them to get a picture and bring it in - works very well usually.
It is unusual that a customer who hunts ducks would not immediately know what an incoming mallard look like. Good Luck

They have some good photos
some people a few years back. especially for mallards, get a couple of those videos that show mallard hunting. The "duckmen " videos have some great slow motion shots of birds dumping in quite close. You can even have the guy pause the DVD and find a pose that he likes, or you can go through it and pause on a bird that is doing what you want to do with the bird. Great for decoying/mapleleafing/ cupped/ cannonball in to the decoy pictures.
