My apoligies, I was under the impression that by getting a taxidermist permit that I was able to buy, sell or trade any kind of specimens. If in fact this is true, does anyone have a Ross Goose that would be willing to gift it to me. I would love to give away a species of your choice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sheldon

That is also illegal. No swapping, bartering, trading, etc. You can not gift a bird in return of getting one gifted to you. That is trading! Best chance for one is to find someone that has one they will give you out of the kindness in their heart. good luck and you may want to double check your federal regs. BIG fines your playing with here. Just a word of warning. take care.
Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.
I wasn't trying to cut you off or be rude to you in your last post. I was trying to see that you don't get nailed by the feds.
As in your last post I want to make this very clear. You said that you wanted to replace a bird for a customer. You cannot gift a bird to your customer and then charge to mount it either. That would be considered selling it to the customer. If someone gifts it directly to your customer and he/she brings it to you to be mounted that's legal. Just remember that a legally gifted bird must be gifted on paper from the original owner to the recipient and that little note must follow that bird. The paper must say what it is, who is gifting it with his license number and who it receiving it. That bird must be exactly what it says, a gift. No trade, not money, nothing. I know what your thinking....taxidermists replace bad birds all the time with one of their own. I know that many do it, but its not legal. I would tend to say that the taxi's that do that don't tell the customer that they did it, or anyone else for that matter unless its is a pen raised bird with papers to prove it. They sure don't go on the internet and ask for it. Read your laws! Better safe then sorry.
I as a matter of fact have a ross in the freezer that is a year old, and I dont have any plans for it, but I dont want to think you did something illegal with it so I think I will keep it. Where is you customer located?
I have a pen raised ross goose - which is perfectly legal to buy, trade or sell with the appropriate, and valid permits - which I have. Email me for details
