I came across some nylon bristled brushes that will fit on my wire wheel flesher. I think they will be just the ticket for ducks and the like. Has anyone else used nylon instead of wire and what kind of results did you get if you did?

I've been using one for the past 2 years and am very pleased with the results. I still cut off most of the fat with scissors so I don't have to press very hard with the wheel.
That's exactly why we use the wire wheel. "Pressing down" creates heat and risks losing feathers. The wire wheel extracts fat without "pressing down".
I know how a wire wheel works. I also know that it is hard on a duck skin. I do not have 48+ years experience fleshing ducks like you. I think the nylon brush will do the same thing as a wire brush but only more gentle. So that will be the beauty of nylon verses wire.
