I am hoping someone can help. I lost my White Capped Pionus yesterday. I came home LATE last night, and when I went to do my nightly checks on all the critters, I was horrified to find my bird at the bottom of his cage, dead. We are assuming he broke his neck by sticking his head through the grate at the bottom of his cage. The plan was to bury him when the weather cleared, but I am reconsidering this, as this bird meant alot to my little boy and myself.
I am looking for someone who may be willing to take on the challenge of mounting a pet bird, and for an affordable price. (I may end up having to bury him anyway, as money is an issue).

The bird is about the size of a cockatiel, only thicker/wider. He's a small bird. Thank you for your consideration.

If you haven't done so, get him frozen immediately. That will give you time to decide what you want to do.
You might be better off burying him in any case, especially if money is an issue. You are, I'm guessing, looking at somewhere around $200.00 or more to have him mounted. Since he's a pet you will probably have to pay it all in advance, and if you go with the lowest priced taxidermist you can find you probably won't like the results very much.
