I will be mounting a pair of hungarian partridge for my first taxidermy competition coming up next month and was wondering what your guys' professional opinion is on the use of the real head or should I use an artificial head.

Thank you
Kendall

REAL

Kendall use the real head on upland birds. With the possible exception of pheasants you will gain nothing by using an artificial head on upland birds. Waterfowl, on the other hand, are a totally different story.
Good luck in your show!

I think it's a big exception on pheasants. I'm convinced artificial is the way to go after strugling with getting the real heads to look accurate. Grouse & Partridge, definatly stay with the real deal.

Thanks
